Stay A Little Longer
We’ve been coming to Cairns, Palm Cove and Port Douglas for more than 20 years, so we like to think we know a thing or two about making the most of this beautiful part of the world.
If you’re travelling this far, why not stay a little longer? Extend the conference schedule for sunshine, swimming, long lunches, fishing, reef trips, beautiful spas, cocktails and absolutely nowhere you need to be.
Here are a few of our personal favourites…

Cairns Eats
If you’re foodies like us, Cairns has plenty to tempt you.
Salt House — Modern Australian dining with a beautiful waterfront setting.
Ochre — A Cairns institution showcasing inventive Australian cuisine.
CCs Bar & Grill - Crystalbrook Bailey - incredible aged steak restaurant with matching wines.
Pachamama - Crystalbrook Bailey - poolside mexican bbq tapas & cocktails
Boardwalk Social - Crystalbrook Flynn - busy pub vibes.
Flynn's Italian - Crystalbrook Flynn - bringing a little bit of italy to the tropics.
The Chambers — Our go-to for a leisurely brunch in a gorgeous heritage setting.

Palm Cove
This one is very close to our hearts.
We’ve been holidaying in Palm Cove for more than 20 years — and we even got married under the iconic line of palm trees on the beach! Needless to say, we’re big fans. Just 25 mins drive north from Crystalbrook Riley.
Where to stay:
Peppers Beach Club Palm Cove — our pick for a relaxed Palm Cove escape. For the best-value privately managed rooms, check out The Boutique Collection.
Where to eat:
NuNu — Exceptional dining right on the beach. A Palm Cove favourite for a reason.
VIVO — We happily eat here for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It’s that good.
Lucky Fish — For those days when you simply can’t be bothered getting dressed up. Delicious takeaway from the team behind VIVO — perfect for a lazy lunch by the pool or beach.
And yes… we’ll be extending our own stay here after the conference. Come and join us for a drink at the swim-up bar or one of their world class spa's!

Port Douglas
We absolutely adore Port Douglas. Beautiful beaches, easy access to the Great Barrier Reef, fabulous dining, boutique shopping, fishing charters and that wonderfully relaxed holiday vibe — it really does tick everyone’s box and only an hour's drive from Cairns!
Where to stay:
Peppers Beach Club Port Douglas — our pick for a relaxed Port Douglas escape and a fantastic location. It’s just a short stroll to Macrossan Street for boutique shopping, cafés and restaurants, and only moments from the beach. The resort itself is perfect for doing very little at all — pool, sunshine, cocktail… repeat!
Peppers Beach Club Port Douglas
Where to eat:
Melaleuca — One of our Port Douglas favourites. A relaxed and stylish spot with a strong local feel, great food and a menu that makes you want to linger.
Salsa Bar & Grill — A Port Douglas favourite and always a fun night out. Great food, a lively atmosphere and definitely one to put on the list.
Nautilus Restaurant — For something a little more special. Tucked away in beautiful tropical surroundings, Nautilus is one of those Port Douglas experiences that feels like a holiday in itself.
Staying on after the conference?
We can also offer extended-stay rates at Crystalbrook Riley. Simply let us know what you’re looking for and we’ll help with the details.
